Rainbow Days celebrated 30 years of service with a big splash! On April 20, 2012, nearly 600 guests gathered to attend the 15th Annual Pot of Gold Luncheon presented by AT&T at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, guests and silent auction donors, Rainbow Days raised a record-setting $230,000 through this year’s luncheon. Guests enjoyed heart-warming remarks from luncheon honoree, Nancy Ann Hunt, community leader and philanthropist, who was honored for her long-standing support of Rainbow Days. Donnie Nelson, General Manager & President of Basketball Operations for the Dallas Mavericks, and Luncheon Honorary Chair, delighted guests and fans with a message about being a part of a winning team - both on and off the court. National Prevention Week: May 20-26, 2012
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) has designated a new annual health observance, National Prevention Week, to honor the work performed by community organizations and individuals to prevent substance abuse and promote mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being. National Prevention Week 2012 will be celebrated May 20th to May 26th and will be comprised of a variety of events and activities across communities surrounding the inaugural theme, "We are the ones. How are you taking action?" Information about National Prevention Week and how to get involved is available through the National Prevention Week Website where visitors can print their own Prevention Pledge to share with family and friends. Please help promote the importance of prevention in your community during National Prevention Week, May 20-26, 2012.
