2012 POT OF GOLD LUNCHEON

Rainbow Days celebrated 30 years of service with a big splash! On April 20, 2012, nearly 600 guests gathered to attend the 15th Annual Pot of Gold Luncheon presented by AT&T at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, guests and silent auction donors, Rainbow Days raised a record-setting $230,000 through this year’s luncheon.. Guests enjoyed heart-warming remarks from luncheon honoree, Nancy Ann Hunt, community leader and philanthropist, who was honored for her long-standing support of Rainbow Days. Donnie Nelson, General Manager & President of Basketball Operations for the Dallas Mavericks, and Luncheon Honorary Chair, delighted guests and fans with a message about being a part of a winning team - both on and off the court.

This year’s luncheon also included a festive performance by children’s entertainer, Eddie Coker, who roused the crowd to their feet as he and the children of Rainbow Days delivered two energetic songs – Say Hello and I Believe. There was not a dry eye in the house as children handed out handmade hearts to guests on the last song, I Believe, based on Rainbow Days’ major messages and written specifically by Mr. Coker to celebrate Rainbow Days.

Cathey Brown, Rainbow Days’ Founder & CEO, shared inspiring remarks at the luncheon centered around Rainbow Days’ major messages: I Am, I Can, I Have, I Will, and I Believe. “Children can have hope for a promising future by learning and believing these five core messages we teach in all of our programs. Funds raised from the Pot of Gold Luncheon have benefited thousands of children over the last 30 years who learn and live these messages every day. We are grateful for this year’s Pot of Gold Luncheon patrons for their generous contributions who help make this positive impact possible.”
